Building Accessibility at JLL with Isaac Harvey MBE (5 November 2025)

We had the privilege of hosting Isaac Harvey MBE, who didn't just speak to us—he invited us to see the world through a new lens. The conversation was a powerful catalyst for change, challenging us to move beyond compliance and toward genuine co-creation.

Isaac’s core message was to design a world for all and build a future where everyone thrives.

But what does that truly mean? He eloquently explained that this vision moves us beyond the standard checklist of ramps and rails. It’s a call to fundamentally reimagine the very architecture of our communities—our public spaces, our digital platforms, our workplaces, and our social interactions—from the ground up. It's about proactive design, not retroactive fixes.

We must create environments, both physical and digital, where a person's disability is simply not a barrier to their participation. This isn't a niche concern; it's a foundational principle for innovation. When we genuinely embrace universal design, we stop creating barriers that lock out talent, perspective, and human potential. We unlock a richer, more diverse tapestry of contributions, driving creativity and problem-solving forward.

Isaac made it undeniably clear that this is not a distant utopian ideal. It is a practical, actionable blueprint for building a stronger, more resilient, and authentically inclusive world. The question is no longer if we can do it, but whether we have the collective will to begin.

A huge thank you to JLL for continuing to be an invaluable partner, co-hosting this event, and for showing an interest in incorporating universal design elements in your future projects.
